Made famous by the movie Finding Nemo, the Regal Tang is one of the most recognizable fish in the Steinhart’s Philippine Coral Reef. Regal Tangs are herbivores and eat only algae.

A Maxima giant clam in the reef lagoon at the Stienhart Aquarium spreads it’s mantle to collect light for the symbiotic algae within it. Giant clams are some of the most beautiful animals in the sea! Some reefs have been found to be made solely from these animals.
