Made famous by the movie Finding Nemo, the Regal Tang is one of the most recognizable fish in the Steinhart’s Philippine Coral Reef. Regal Tangs are herbivores and eat only algae.

A Maxima giant clam in the reef lagoon at the Stienhart Aquarium spreads it’s mantle to collect light for the symbiotic algae within it. Giant clams are some of the most beautiful animals in the sea! Some reefs have been found to be made solely from these animals.

A Clownfish hugs a large sea anemone in the Reef Lagoon of the Steinhart Aquarium at the California Academy of Sciences. Clownfish seek shelter in sea anemones from predators. Also, the clownfish was the species of fish featured in the movie Finding Nemo.
